A 6 Stop Photo Guide To Pet-Friendly Active Spots To Visit In Virginia Beach (#3 Might Surprise You!)

Ready to visit Virginia Beach for an active day with your furry friend?  We visited for a family event after the summer crowds had died down and had a wonderful time exploring in the 24 hours we had in town.  Here are a few of our favorite pet-friendly spots around the city, starting with where we stayed.

Candlewood Suites – they welcome furry friends and even have dog biscuits at the front desk!
Stop 1 – Visit King Neptune on the Beach
Stop 2 – Hillier Ignite Fitness Park – a short walk away from Neptune
See if you can make it across the monkey bars – climbing the rope was hard!
Take a swing on the rings
Don’t miss the cool sandcastle!
Stop 3 – A dumpster.  Not just any dumpster though, it’s Mount Trashmore Park!
Mount Trashmore – a park built on top of a trash heap.  It’s so unique!
Climb to the top of Mt. Trashmore – if you’re lucky, join a November Project workout here.
Read up on how Mt. Trashmore was created
A nice little lake at the bottom of Mt. Trashmore.  Lots of geese for the pup to chase.
Stop 4 – The bottom of Mt. Trashmore has an Energi outdoor fitness park
Get some movement in without needing a gym
Stop 5 – First Watch – Pet Friendly Patio
Delicious brunch
Sasha even got a Puppucinno (whipped cream in a cup) thanks to our server
Stop 6 – Windsor Castle Park – about an hour west of Virginia Beach in Smithfield
Plenty of nice trails for your pup to enjoy
