With so many supplements on the market, it can be overwhelming to determine which ones are actually legitimate and will be the best fit for you, right? During my recent pregnancy, I was struggling with terrible leg cramps and constipation, along with eye-twitching that I had never experienced before. A friend recommended Morning Magnesium from Smidge because it contains 3 gentle types of Magnesium and boron to assist your body in absorbing it.
When I looked into their company, I was pleased to see they are committed to producing everything in small batches and they always utilize third-party testing to ensure purity and quality. The 3 owners/founders have all experienced health issues or have had children struggle with them, so they know firsthand the importance of gut health and optimizing nutrition. I like that they are not a mass-producer that’s just concerned with the bottom line, but instead they are a responsive small business concerned with truly helping people. I contacted them with several questions about their products and they were always quick to respond. They are also cognizant of keeping their supplements allergen free as much as possible which is crucial for our family.
I was skeptical before starting to take Smidge because I’d tried other types of Magnesium in the past without much success. After taking their Magnesium every day for about a week, I noticed that my painful leg cramps had gone away and my digestion was becoming more regulated as well. I believe their specific formulation using 3 types of Magnesium along with boron was the key to making a difference for me.
After our son Caleb was born, we had him on a probiotic because he was struggling with painful gas and constipation, but we saw no change after he was on it a few weeks. We learned he had an allergy to dairy and soy, so I searched for something free of those allergens to try for him as I realized the first probiotic we had him on contained dairy! Since I already had good results with Smidge for myself, I decided to try their Infant Probiotic for him since it’s free of common allergens and contains 50% Bifidobacterium infantis which is what is most commonly found in the digestive tract of breastfed babies.
After about a week on the probiotic, we began to notice he was pooping more regularly instead of every few days and seemed to be in less pain and straining less. It’s been such a blessing to find something that has given us back our happy baby and allowed him to thrive.
It may seem a little pricey, but as you can see in the graphic below, you only need a smidge. That small spoon is the dosage for the powder, so the bottle will last many months!
Smidge also has beef liver capsules, digestive enzymes, adult probiotics and oyster capsules. I look forward to trying some of their other products soon, especially the digestive enzymes so I can enjoy eating chili! Are you looking for some digestive support for you or your child?
