Celebrate Female Entrepreneurship: 5 Creative Small Businesses to Shop This Season

With today being Small Business Saturday, I figured it was the perfect time to share some talented female creators with you who also happen to be personal connections. Let’s shop small, shop local, and support each other!

Clarus Resin Art

Clarus Resin Art is run by Claire, who is the daughter of one of my childhood friends, and I’ve loved seeing her delicate jewelry creations that utilize real pressed flowers and resin. She has earrings and pendants that will delight any nature lover and you can watch her creative process through videos she shares on Instagram. Help her reach her next follower goal of 225 – she’s so close! She is often at markets in the upstate of South Carolina but you can also purchase through her website.

Word Garden Studio

Word Garden Studio offers beautiful, Scripture-based greeting cards and prints that are all handmade with love by a friend I met through our church community group. You can find her collection of artwork here. Lauren’s heart for the Lord and desire to encourage others are evident in her designs and I love her option to subscribe to “Hope Mail“. If you’re a visual learner like me, I know you’ll be blessed by her designs and how they help you keep God’s truth front of mind.

Red Bird Creations

Red Bird Creations was recently started by a homeschooling mom, Cursty, whom I met earlier this year through a local co-op where we shared a love for the outdoors. She has a knack for creating witty designs that resonate with those who enjoy a holistic lifestyle, medical freedom, and Biblical living. She offers stickers, tote bags, t-shirts, and even a clove-oil-infused teether for the little ones that my son hasn’t stopped chewing on. I smile each time I look at the stickers I purchased from her and look forward to seeing what else she will be adding to her store in the coming months!

The Snarky Chicken

I met Erin, the creator of The Snarky Chicken, through a local mom group and she was so kind in answering my questions about raising chickens and letting me see her coop and set up! We both share a love for animals, especially dogs, so when I saw she had created this custom paw wreath that would support the Guilford County Animal Shelter, I was drawn to it and was lucky enough to snag it for someone special! Isn’t it so sweet? Erin offers a wide variety of handmade grapevine wreaths and floral arrangements for all seasons and occasions, so be sure to check out her website and Facebook page, as she is often adding new creations.

Triad Edible Arrays

Last but certainly not least, Heather is a fellow mom that I’ve connected with through a local hiking and kayaking group she runs. She owns Triad Edible Arrays and for months I was constantly hungry while looking at all of her mouthwatering charcuterie photos and the various goodie boxes she creates. I finally ended up ordering a box from her for Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect size for my husband and I to share. Our box had a variety of savory and sweet items – she is able to customize certain aspects of her boxes to your personal preferences as well.

I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about these small businesses and I’ll be sharing several more as we head into December as there were just too many good ones for one post. Even if you’re not able to make a purchase, a simple follow on social media or sharing their websites/pages can make such a huge impact! Let’s remember the importance of shopping small during this season of giving and keep the small biz love going!
