Non-Toxic Beauty Products – A Review of Real Purity

Over the past few years, I’ve been focusing on switching to safer and less toxic personal care products.  I have a few holdouts, but the majority of what I put on my skin and hair these days is free of harmful chemicals and endocrine disruptors.  Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing a 5-part series with you about my favorite affordable non-toxic products, so I hope you’ll find some good ideas for new brands to try!

These days, there are plenty of self-proclaimed “clean” beauty products on the market, but I use the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep grading scale to determine if their claims are actually true.  They have over 69,000 personal care products in their database and give each one a grade to let you know if the ingredients pose any safety concerns due to toxicity.  Ideally, you only want to use products with a score of 1, which is the lowest toxicity.    After Real Purity checked out with a 1 on EWG, I also read about Real Purity’s story as a family-owned business and knew this was a company that I wanted to support.   Whenever possible, I want to support small businesses and family-owned companies rather than large corporations.    I’ve been using their foundation and deodorant for quite a few years now, but Real Purity recently sent me their fragrance-free travel kit to try.   Check out my show-and-tell below where I share about the travel kit and my experience with the brand as a whole, especially as it relates to my multiple chemical sensitivities.

I love their slogan of “From Nature To You” and their commitment to plant-derived, paraben free and sulfate free ingredients.   If you’re like me and you struggle with acne and complexion issues, I encourage you to check out their Acne Bundle as well, which you can see below.

They offer 15% discounts on their website fairly regularly, so I tend to wait for those to stock up on my favorite products, and definitely take advantage of their free samples with each order.  They also offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more, which is a nice perk. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to find their products at Whole Foods.  If you’d like to try any of their products, feel free to use my referral link to receive $5 off of your first purchase of $5 or more.

Please let me know what you think if you try Real Purity and also comment below with any particular products you’d like me to highlight in the rest of this series.

Thanks for reading!

Emily
