Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Herbs, Supplements

Happy Friday and congratulations on making it through another week!  As an extension of my TNT challenge, each Friday I will be sharing a roundup of my favorite finds from that week.  Each week will have a different theme, but I’m starting off with health and fitness this week!  I hope you enjoy reading about them.

Burn To Give

My friend and fellow Google Local Guide Luciana let me know about this free App that converts your calories burned through exercising into life-saving nutrition for children in need.  It syncs with all the major trackers as well as Google Fit.  What an incredible platform to allow you to help others while pursuing a healthy lifestyle.  Some of their partners include Subaru, Merrell, and Samsung.  I love companies that emphasize wellness and actually put their money where their mouth is!  Use #BurnToGive on your fitness photos to help spread the word and end hunger.

Ned Full Spectrum Hemp Oil

I know, you’re probably weary of having CBD and hemp being infused into everything  from chocolate to lotions and even burgers (WHY!?).  I’ve been a complete skeptic because the prior CBD pills and hemp oil I’ve tried gave me headaches AND didn’t help me feel any type of sleep or relaxation benefits.  That skepticism ended when I found Ned and tried it for the first time.   Ned offers full spectrum Hemp Oil which will not get you high, but it will nourish your endocannabinoid system.  I did not have high hopes due to my previous bad experiences, but I ordered the 300mg dosage and it has actually helped me sleep through the night which I have really struggled to do over the past few months.  Yes, I know it’s expensive but the quality and 3rd party lab testing is worth it.  You can use this link to receive $15 off your first purchase if you want to give it a try.

Rice Cooked With Bone Broth

I learned this brilliant hack from one of my favorite health podcasts and it has become a fan favorite in our house.  If you have a rice cooker, just replace the water you’d normally put in the cooker with bone broth and this will not only add some nice flavor, but also give you a decent protein boost.  Bone broth is also one of the most healing things you can consume to help with gut issues and inflammation.  You can make your own if you don’t want to buy bone broth at the store, but either way, it’s a great tool for cooking and for consuming on its own.

The Coconut Cult Yogurt

This is the only cult I’ll ever join and I’m in deep.   This yogurt is more like kefir in consistency and has a bit of a sour taste, but it’s SO good.  If you are a fan of kombucha, you will probably appreciate the flavor.  The best part – it is jam-packed with incredibly strong, beneficial probiotics (ask me how I found out they’re super strong if you dare).  I get mine at Sonder Mind & Body here in Greensboro but click here to find it at a store near you.  One little jar will last you almost a month because you only take a teaspoon per day!  I love being able to populate my gut with healthy probiotics without having to take pills!

pHresh Magnesium deodorant

If you’ve tried to switch to safer, natural deodorants, you know it’s difficult to find one that is effective.  It’s even harder to find one without baking soda (I avoid that ingredient because it gives me a rash).  I have been pleased with the subtle but pleasant scent of this pHresh deodorant, but the main reason I chose it is for the Magnesium it includes.  Over half of the population is Magnesium deficient, and I’m no exception.  In case you’re not aware, Magnesium a crucial mineral for proper muscle and nerve function, sleep, heart function, and strong bones, just to name a few.   I struggle with holding a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, along with being overly tight and inflexible.  Magnesium has definitely helped my body to relax and has helped with sleep too.  A huge reason to look into topical Magnesium (whether it’s deodorant, lotion, or a spray) is that it’s easily absorbed through the skin, whereas if you take an oral Magnesium supplement, your body may not effectively absorb and process it if you have any issues with your gut like I do.  Just something to keep in mind!

What’s one favorite find you discovered this week?  Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading.
